What is L-Track?
If you’ve dabbled in vanlife DIY, you’ve probably heard of L-Track. It’s also commonly referred to as airline track or in our case, Venture L-Track. So what is it, exactly?
L-Track is a lightweight, high-strength aluminum rail that creates mounting points for gear and accessories anywhere along its length.
How to Use L-Track
L-Track is incredibly versatile. Popular uses include:

Installing L-Track in 15 Minutes or Less
Believe it or not, you can install L-Track in 15 minutes or less.
In this guide, we’ll focus on mounting L-Track to wood paneling or walls. (Looking to install on sheet metal? Check out our instructions here.)
Step 1: Choose Your Profile
For beginners, we recommend angled, semicircle, or rectangular profiles. Functionally, they’re all the same—so choose the look that fits your aesthetic.

Step 2: Choose Your Location
One of the biggest advantages of L-Track is that it can be mounted almost anywhere in your van:

Cabinets or kitchen areas

A few of our favorite spots:

Walls → great for hanging clothes hooks or stow bags

Side of cabinets or sink → perfect for hand towels or a leash
Step 3: Ready, Set, Drill

Hold the L-Track in place where you want to install it.

Pre-drill mounting holes using a 1/4" drill bit
-
Secure the track with #12 wood screws.

Bonus: Add end caps for a clean, finished look.
